This setting of the "turba" (crowd) parts of the Passion reading of Good Friday reflects the bitter words spoken by the multitude who called for Christ's crucifixion. The polyphonic parts, like the traditional Synagoga tone, begin on a unison "B," but soon fracture into carefully chosen dissonances and consonances drawing the listener deeper into the liturgical drama that is the Passion of Good Friday. This score uses the Passion reading from the Good Friday of 1962, but uses the "weeping tone" found at the end of 1954 musical settings. Premiered: Most Precious Blood Parish, 2022, Tulsa, OK
