This piece was specifically written for the Ordination of Priests on Ember Saturday of Pentecost, whereby the Sequence is interrupted and finished after the ordination has taken place. The Alleluia is omitted on Ember Saturday, but is sung on all other days of the Pentecost octave. In general it can be used as a motet for the Pentecost season.
